Getting Organized Preparing for the New Year

As the New Year is celebrated each year I think to myself, “This is the year to get organized”. Don’t get me wrong I’m a really organized person. Things are in their rightful place in my home, not much clutter (We’ll talk more on that subject soon enough); the organization I’m talking about is with my business. As this year comes to an end, I think of the year as a whole; how did I do, what did I do, how could it have been better?? These are all great questions to ask yourself if you have your own business or are thinking of starting your own business. The New Year is a great time to re-examine your business. Look for opportunities to grow and optimize your business.

Okay, I must confess I needed help. After 2-3 years of running my business, I started looking at where I was going, and what I really wanted. The one thing I knew is that I love AromatheraChi. I love what I do, teaching and seeing people’s faces in that AHA moment; real joy. After the battle in my brain settled, I got myself a Life Coach. THE BEST BUSINESS DECISION I MADE. I researched someone who is familiar with what my business is all about, that was very important to me, watched what that person did and how he interacted with people. It was a fit—I chose Benjamin Aaron from The Inspired Odyssey Coaching Program. It has only been two weeks, but I wanted to share some things I’ve learned:

    1. Set Your Business Resolutions

It is beneficial to lay out what you want for your business in the coming 12 months. Be specific, and I mean down to seeing yourself actually doing what you want to accomplish, so, you can actually measure results and see whether you accomplished them by year’s end.Commit to a schedule. Planning ahead and committing to a schedule will help you focus.

    2. Create an editorial calendar (reading time, Inspirational days).

Read industry blogs, books, magazines, and anything else you can get your hands on to be on top of the trends in your industry. I’m not going to write on a consistent basis if it’s not planned ahead of time (just me). However, if you plan ahead and put these days on your calendar, you will have accounted for them in your schedule.

    3. Calendars help me stay organized by letting me know what I need to do & when.

Get key events (shows, classes) and the seasonal events on your calendar, making sure your brand stays relevant to your target customer is an important part of brand building. This is why you should take the time to map out key events and seasons where your brand can shine.

Now each year I strive to incorporate a new class (subject of learning) mostly to keep my studies new and up to date, but also for my own mind. I LOVE to learn new ways of doing things and techniques.  This year it was the completion of my advanced class in distilling, what fun to be around creative like minds!!

Come and join me this spring for a Basic Distilling class to learn how to make your own aromatic waters.

Class schedules are on my web site www.AromatheraChi.com
